Alex Savakis likes to tell stories through data visualization, icons, motion graphics, presentation decks, letters and illustrations. His work has been featured on the website, TheyDrawAndCook.com, the largest collection of illustrated recipes on the internet. His lettering work appeared in Dasherie magazine, which features calligraphy, lettering, and design.

Alex interviews up-and-coming lettering artists, seasoned calligraphers, and lettering artists of interest for his blog, LetteringGuy.com. His interviews have been picked up by the blog, Bored Panda, and Colophon, the magazine from the Australian Society of Calligraphers.

In 2016, he embarked on a personal project to illustrate buildings, structures and points of local cultural interest in his hometown of Warren, OH. The unintended consequence of his effort was a solo exhibition at the Trumbull Art Gallery in Warren. The illustrations were shared by Uppercase magazine, a Canadian publication.

In the wee hours of the morning Alex leads group exercise classes. He tends to his vegetable garden and fruit trees (apples, oranges, figs, peaches, and pears). He loves graphic novels and comic books. He lives in Concord, CA, near San Francisco.
