My friend Salli, an amazing illustrator and designer, is keeping warm with socks on which I designed the pattern. She pushed me into an international competition. I won second prize. I prefer to look at it another way – we won!

This boat was based on artwork from ancient Greek pottery. It was part of a design that included the dolphins from a previous post. It’s completely vector based.

Here’s a portion of pattern I created for a competition from Designboom. The dolphins were derived from representations found on ancient Greek vessels.

It’s Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial beginning of summer. Time to pull out the grill and toss a couple of steaks over glowing charcoal. I created these tiny T-bones and plastic flatware with a ruling pen. The tablecloth background is a series of gouche washes. The pattern was created with computer magic. I think the male in your house might wear an apron with this pattern. At the very least he’ll use the oven mitt.
At the urging of Salli of Studio SSS I entered a design competition with Sock It To Me sponsored by Pattern and Print. It was an international competition. I had nothing to lose and everything to gain. I gained 2nd prize and a small sum of cash. Click here to see the winning designs from the Sock It To Me blog.

The same night I drew the oranges and lemons I drew flowers . Again after a little computer magic…I sent the file to Spoonflower who printed my pattern on organic cotton sateen. My mom sewed pillows. The pattern is available. Let’s talk.

Working with a monoweight pen and my computer I created this composition. Originally it is a bunch of individual line drawings of apples and pears from my sketchbook. If you like what you see please don’t hesitate to contact me for the full pattern. Let’s talk.
